前言
我們獲告知由於YUJIHW不屬NVIDIA證認的媒體之一, 故不能在二零二三年一月四日晚上十時發佈測試內容。一天後的一月五號我們終於能夠與大家介紹NVIDIA史上最偉大的GPU架構ADA LOVELACE最新鉅作RTX4070TI。相信各位早已在其他地方看到RTX4070TI的性能表現, 簡單來說就是一張低功耗版本的RTX3090TI, 但4K遊戲表現明顯不及RTX3090TI。經數天研究,YUJIHW好像發現了一個隱藏模式, 打開後自動輕鬆增加RTX4070TI性能同時降低功耗。這是(前期DRIVER)BUG還是我們在拆卡時不小心弄壞顯示卡? 我們沒有答案, 留待各位自行測試。ADA LOVELACE的性能和效率無容置疑, 比當年MAXWELL更出色, RTX4000系列的售價是另一回事。但結合$799USD的MSRP和打開隱藏模式後, 六千六港紙有找的GIGABYTE RTX 4070 TI EAGLE OC真的有這麼不濟嗎? 5/1/2023
以下的內容在4/1/2023 10PM前完成, 數據方面在5/1/2023再次重新測試和驗證。
背景
NVIDIA RTX4070TI最終的MSRP比當初公佈的899USD要低不少, 看來NVIDIA終歸高估市場對RTX4080的需求。RTX4070TI可謂史上最貴的70TI遊戲卡, 因為對上只有3070TI。前有RTX4080背有3070TI, 4070TI未出世已被看低, 不過一代還一代, 4070TI還是值得被客觀地評價。今次YUJIHW開箱測試的RTX4070TI是技嘉的RTX 4070 TI EAGLE OC。EAGLE系列亦即以前的WINDFORCE系列, 都是技嘉入門級最低階的版本。EAGLE對上是GAMING系列, 但是當你詳細閱讀下文的測試數據, 不難發現將以靠近MSRP推出的EAGLE OC更具吸引力。不單技嘉重塑入門級定位增強散熱設計, 更重要的是4070TI根本不是一張廢卡, 售價亦不算離譜。但無論如何, 技嘉RTX4070TI EAGLE OC的確是一張怪卡。

下列數據除非是FPS, 其餘全是利用HWINFO64記錄並抄出MAX值。
風扇與溫度與功耗與BIOS
∇ 首先介紹技嘉4070TI EAGLE OC顯示卡的運作情況。BIOS OC的預設風扇轉速上限是~3000RPM, 並支援雙路控制和停轉功能。
∇ 發神經下載使用GIGABYTE CONTROL CENTER是有原因的。初時我們發現技嘉竟然夠膽將POWER LIMIT由285W拉高至340W, 以一張入門級EAGLE OC來說這是過份地進取。在以為技嘉終於生性願意做好EAGLE系列的散熱時, 我們發現技嘉4070TI EAGLE OC所謂的340W MAX POWER LIMIT是假的。以FURMARK 2160P 0XAA測試, 4070TI EAGLE OC只能達到310W。是我們拆壞顯示卡還是BIOS/DRIVER有問題??
∇ 再查看NVIDIA SMI, 沒看出哪裡有古怪。
∇ 一開始我們懷疑是這條雙8PIN轉插的問題, 在改用ATX3.0火牛直出原生12VHPWR後, 情況依舊沒有任何改變。這裡的重點在於NVIDIA一向有能力精確地控制TDP=POWER LIMIT, 更加有能力控制POWER CONSUMPTION=POWER LIMIT。今次RTX4070TI的功耗管理明顯有異, 操控水平可謂倒退至AMD之流。亦因為這個原因, 我們才改用GIGABYTE SOFTWARE嘗試以另一套軟件拉爆POWER與VOLTAGE再試試。
∇ 最終我們只能在特定的測試軟件在特定的模式下, 才能突破310W的無形功耗牆, 但仍然未能夠頂爆340W POWER LIMIT。以下是msi kombustor。
∇ 正常情況下, AIB出廠BIOS內的POWER LIMIT理應能夠被FURMARK等軟件直接食爆, 例如RTX4090 600W BIOS在FURMARK中亦能夠順利食足600W。遊戲和跑分軟件是另一回事。以下是RTX4090 https://yujihw.com/review/gigabyte-rtx4090-gaming-oc-4k-gaming-oc-and-undervolt/18。
及後我們向消息人士打聽, 得到的回覆是NVIDIA其實刻意將所有入門級4070TI鎖在~310W MAX。其他入門級4070TI大多配備~310W MAX POWER LIMIT的BIOS, 是技嘉BIOS被自行拉高至340W唔知為乜。不過BIOS的絕對控制權在NVIDIA手上…所以太怪了。
∇ 以下是一些壓力測試, 全部都食唔到340W MAX, 全部叫糊PWR=POWER THROTTLED…

我們亦曾試過FURMARK 1080P 0XAA, 效果一樣。上面所呈現的問題應該與火牛無關, 亦與12VHPWR//8PIN ADAPTOR無關, BIOS OC或SILENT都一樣。我們還試過手動將風扇鎖定在100%=3000RPM, 再開啟FURMARK, 防止GPU溫度因為風扇停轉低能在一瞬間觸發溫度保護將核心鎖在特定次級POWER STATE, 結果仍然一樣, 除非核心一早已經損壞。一句講哂兩條線, 310W是無形的POWER LIMIT。
另一方面, 技嘉4070TI EAGLE OC的OC BIOS預設風扇轉速約在2200RPM, SILENT BIOS的預設風扇轉速則是~1800RPM, 兩者同樣擁有340W MAX POWER LIMIT。YUJIHW建議用家直接使用OC BIOS, 除非連2200RPM都覺得嘈。2300RPM打後開始會有明顯風聲。~2000RPM便能有效吹穿散熱器主體, 所以2000RPM會是一個在高負載時值得長用的水平。
裸跑下2200RPM 310W 70C (AMBIENT TEMP 23C)是一個合理的水平, 以入門級來說甚至是做得幾好。要知道技嘉3070TI EAGLE輕鬆290W 2500RPM 80C CORE 95C GDDR6X。4070TI EAGLE雖然使用均熱板, 但效果不算驚人。換個角度看, 若技嘉不使用均熱板, 4070TI EAGLE大概淪為3070TI EAGLE OC之流。
2200RPM的嘈音尚可接受, 基本上會被機箱風扇的嘈音遮蓋, 但是COIL WHINE就未必了。之所以說技嘉RTX4070TI EAGLE OC是一張怪卡, 除了BIOS POWER LIMIT奇怪外, 還有COIL WHINE的問題。RTX4070TI EAGLE OC怪在COIL WHINE一般只在IDLE時出現, 負載時完全無COIL WHILE, 而且COIL WHILE的嘈音程度絕對不低。
5/1/2023更新: 各大媒體對技嘉EAGLE/GAMING RTX4070TI的散熱表現讚譽有嘉, 甚至說出技嘉入門級做得太好嬴埋超越對手頂級MODEL。YUJIHW唔知佢地有冇收錢, 但是關於技嘉RTX4070TI EAGLE的散熱表現YUJIHW相當認同是做得很好, 因為它只是個賣MSRP的入門級型號。不過COIL WHINE的問題亦有被其他媒體提到。德國COMPUTERBASE以”開演唱會”來形容技嘉RTX4070TI, 評測做法似我(冇收錢)。
∇ 本來正在玩弄技嘉TACHYON Z790, 正好順手用來測試4070TI。下圖是測試用的CPU & DDR5。
初步摸索顯示卡的調較空間 – TIMESPY EXTREME
下面oc1(+100,+1500,340w)的意思是MSI AFTERBURNER內輸入的數值。

簡單解釋:
- OC1=初試超頻, 有效果, 分數有上升
- OC2將+1500 VRAM提高至+2000 VRAM (MAX), 分數不升反降
- OC3將VRAM OC定在+1750, 分數比+1500時更高。所以VRAM不能隨便OC, +1500~1800是理想空間, +2000會出事
- OC4嘗試將CORE OFFSET由+100增加至+150, 即炒
- OC5=嘗試拉電壓至100% MAX (之前的OC設定沒有動過VOLTAGE), 與OC3相比單靠額外再拉電壓, 分數再上升
- OC6=在+100% VOLTAGE的前題下再嘗試+150 CORE OFFSET, 結果失敗
- OC7=在+100% VOLTAGE的前題下再嘗試+2000 VRAM OFFSET, 結果分數再上升, 反映加VOLTAGE該被用作VRAM OC
- 由於4090的測試文章使用了UVOC並引來一些質疑, 雖然後來被證實UVOC依然有效, 但今次4070TI我們決定改用降POWER LIMIT玩玩看, UPOC=UNDER POWER OC, 效果(分數)竟比STOCK好
- UP2=純降POWER而不作任何超頻, 效果比STOCK差, 情理之中
由於4070TI原生只有192BIT, 大幅提高VRAM頻率如有神助。當然超頻有風險或導致硬件燒毀和保養失效。
技嘉4070TI EAGLE OC, 又或RTX4070TI本身另一個發神經的地方處便是竟然能夠透過鎖電再超頻來獲得比預設狀況更高的FPS和更低的POWER CONSUMPTION。UPOC=UNDER POWER OC,UPOC後的230W比預設的280W更強。這是是技嘉問題還是ADA LOVERLACE問題還是NVIDIA BIOS/DRIVER問題又或是YUJIHW的問題??
PS. 關於HWINFO64內兩個GPU POWER的問題, 我們也不知道GPU RAIL POWERS在做什麼。GPU POWER與GPUZ內的BOARD POWER DRAW大致一樣, 應被視為”正確”的軟件回報值。以下是HWINFO64的解釋:

遊戲HORIZON ZERO DAWN
∇ 遊戲呈現的結果趨勢與跑分時相同。以STOCK的角度看, OC7的效果超卓。從STOCK的角度看, STOCK不知所謂因為UPOC1的FPS更高而且功耗更低。以UPOC1的角度看, OC7有點多餘不太值得使用。

總結 – 4070TI=230W的3090TI??
以上數款遊戲和跑分的成績, 提供兩個清晰的方向: 一是相對於預設STOCK使用, 透過VRAM大幅超頻帶來的性能提升遠高於STOCK的性能, 差距達10%。二是相對於預設STOCK使用, 透過降低並鎖定功率至80%並同時超核心和超VRAM, 所得出的成績竟然比STOCK要好一點, 兩者實際功耗相差約50W, UPOC連帶溫度和轉速都下降。
我們無法肯定這是我們在拆卡時不小心弄壞顯示卡所導致, 抑或先天設計如此, 還是BIOS/DRIVER作祟, 難道是10+3垃圾設計所導致…?我們亦不確定其他EAGLE OC//其他牌子的入門級4070TI是否同樣能夠做到降功耗再超頻而性能反升的情況。即時廢除上面所有關於UPOC的數據, STOCK和OC仍然有一定參考價值。4070TI的高階卡聽講能夠隨便衝上360W~400W, 必然沒有入門級這種奇怪限制。
340W BIOS鎖310W的問題, 可以是廠商特意預留一定POWER空間作內部分配, 例如PCB上POWER LOSS。但是當降POWER再超頻時而性能不跌反升, 這似是當人為手動降電時, 所預留的POWER LOSS空間的比例被壓縮, 變相相對地提供更多空間予核心應付頻率上升後所帶來的功耗上升, 最終使顯示卡性能上升。這種降POWER再超頻的做法本身有點不合常理, 就算FPS上升, 真實的遊戲體驗仍然有機會變差, 例如出現更多STUTTERINGS。
總結技嘉RTX 4070 TI EALGE OC之亂如下:
- 近八算, 相對抵玩
- 以入門級來說散熱做得不錯, 風扇不嘈, GDDR6X散熱不需擔心
- COIL WHINE的情況很不理想
- 以技嘉定位來說, 4070TI EAGLE的散熱性能若放在3070TI裡, 將會是AORUS MASTER級數
- 真實POWER LIMIT無形牆=310W, 縱使BIOS MAX POWER LIMIT=340W
- 降功耗再超頻的做法會比預設使用更好, 功耗更低FPS更高, 但未能確定實體流暢度會否受降功耗影響而出現更多卡頓
- 230W的3090TI性能, 4070TI港紙七千有找是良心價…當年3080都六千起跳唔計排隊影大頭限量5499卡
3070TI預設接近300W, 4090最佳功耗約在300W, 4070TI預設接近300W。這三張300W的顯示卡, 顯然3070TI最傻仔, 但是4090太貴, 那麼只有4070TI值得入手。在沒有對手和不想回購上代礦卡/二年後全新賣MSRP的一手卡, 4070TI的價值反哂皮。當技嘉EAGLE都見得吓人, 技嘉個良心真係反咗出嚟畀大家睇。
未必每一張4070TI都能拉爆+2000 VRAM, 量力而為。
試問當年又有幾多人能夠以5499~7000HKD買到3080。今日, 六千六, 技嘉, 呢張卡鷹嚟㗎。
